We all want to know how to up our game during the holidays. Whether this means finding the perfect gift, creating the most amazing Christmas card or – channeling our inner bombshell (so we can rock those shi shi holiday parties), it's no secret that every woman alive wishes to be and feel extra-ordinary... Especially this time of year!
Well, to help you harness that inner bombshell, (we all have one) I’ve teamed up with the beautiful Desire, of Darling Be Daring, and one of my favorite Denver boutiques, Whorl Shop. And of course none of this would have been possible without the photographic genius of our very own, Brandon Dougherty. Together – we have created, and captured how to take your everyday cute self to holiday-goddess status.
Now because deep down we all love a good transformation, we wanted to document the process from start to finish. So here is where we started.
Let the glamification commence!
In case you don’t already know, my beauty philosophy is this: our makeup should bring out the best of the beauty we ALREADY possess. Not cover it up, or take away from it! So that’s exactly how I approached Desire’s look.
Knowing that I was going to create a bold winged liner, and a deep, vibrant lip - I kept her eye look simple. I used a shimmery, iridescent gold (Mac Motif) all over the lid, accenting the crease and corner with a beautiful, soft taupe (Mac Wedge) mixed with a light, buttery grey-brown (Mac Patina). Us makeup artists always mix!!! In the very outter corners, I cranked up the drama by adding an intense, reddish brown. (Mac Embark)
For her cheeks I created a mauvey-pink blush (Mac Pink Swoon + Mac Pinch O’ Peach) to compliment her beautiful olive skin. Next, in true Darling Be Daring fashion (girlfriend loves her lipstick!!), I created a bold holiday-inspired, wine lip. (Mac Velvetta liner, Candy Yum-Yum lipstick and Pop Mode gloss)
And here is the result!!
Now this look simply wouldn’t be complete without the right outfit! So together, Desire and I styled her gorgeous look! Since it’s cold in December (in most places!), we wanted something chic, but warm, so we selected this AMAZING cropped, mock turtleneck sweater from Stephanie O. (I am drooling just thinking of it.) We paired it with her classic-yet-sexy, Michael Stars lace pencil skirt (who doesn’t love a great pencil skirt?!) and a sophisticated pointy-toed black pump.
It’s been said that the accessories make the outfit. Well, I don’t know if it’s been said. But I have said it. So that’s gotta count for something?! So without further ado, let’s talk accessories!! We both fell in love with this fabulous MKaltenbach statement necklace and these gorgeous Elizabeth Kay bangles. They complete the look!!
There you have it my loves. Some holiday glam-spiration to help you bring out your inner bombshell this holiday season!!
